Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents his initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.

Success also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.

The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a final set.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
